The way of the Buddha is to know yourself;
To know yourself is to forget yourself;
To forget yourself is to be awakened by all things. Dogen - Thirteenth Century Zen Monk
‘Touching the Earth’
Saturday, 23 October 2010, a one day, non-residential Retreat will be offered at the Sangha. Ajahn Anandabodhi and Ajahn Metta, will be leading the day long Retreat. Western educated in their early lives, they are ordained nuns and practice in the lineage of Ajahn Sumdeho and Ajahn Chah of the Thai Forest tradition. They are active in building up a monastery in California as a training monastery for women. There are blogs, bio’s, and photos on the www.saranaloka.org web site.
“Centering ourselves in this present moment, we practice mindfulness and awareness with our own body and breadth, letting this lead us into a deeper connection with the Earth and all sentient beings.”
The day will be held in Noble Silence from 9:00AM to 4:30PM. We will break for a pot luck meal at 11:00AM. Please bring food to share with the group. There is no registration fee for this Retreat, but participants must pre-register at the Sangha. Registration will begin in late September 2010. There is a limit of 20 people and the Retreat is open to both women and men. Dana will be graciously appreciated.
